The Monopod Scam

Coming Across Scott Kelby's book: The Digital Photography Book Vol. 1 earlier this year had been one of the best thing that had happened to me. The natural way he explains,Gives advice on tips and tricks without in his word " The technical explanation and without all the techno photo speak". I was eager to read and learn and within days i was ready to move on to the Volume two.

One of the tricks that had worked beautifully is the "MONOPOD SCAM". Its awkward sometimes when you are at a public place trying to shoot with your Tripod legs all spread out and the security or the person in-charge comes up asking if you have permission to be there. Some places allows tripod but then you need permission to shoot inside buildings like The Monte Casino,The Apartheid museum,The Historical Building in Soweto etc.

The chances are you get away with a monopod most times and that's because its just one legged version of a tripod...Which although is not as rigid and stable as a tripod but it more stable than hand holding avoiding the risk of camera shake. A monopod only takes the space of your frame and its less noticeable.

Passion For Images

My passion for Photography has sprung out of the love of holding a Camera, looking through the eyes of a glass and viewing the world through it, Plus i don't have does tender baby picture moment that I would have cherished so much&I still scold my Mum for it. That and so much more had formed the fervor in me to go for what am passionate about.
Photography as a passion comes with its challenges, You need to have what it takes to start up and when there is business look to it then you need to go all the way. To get the right equipments to make your images look more professional.
For a starter,A Dslr camera is needed NOT A COMPACT CAMERA OR A POINT AND SHOOT CAMERA. There are wide varieties of CANON and NIKON Dslr cameras. I love Canon camera and the debate of which is better between a Canon and a Nikon is for another day.
Going through college with a Canon EOS60D was the best choice i could make.
Okay basis : 1. A Dslr Camera 2 .Atleast two lens preferably a wide angle&a Prime lens 3. A flash  4. A Tripod  5. Camera remote trigger and ofcourse 6. A camera bag.

With this you are good to get your subject and composition together for those nice shoot ;0))
